Monte Long
3-Gun, Instructor
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up a few miles north in Keller. My Dad is a veterinarian, and growing up, we lived outside of town. My fondest memories of childhood almost all revolve around shooting and hunting with my Dad and G-Dad (my grandfather) or running through the pastures surrounding Dad’s clinic with a BB gun, a .22 or a shotgun and my old Australian Shepherd, Tuffy. Those were great times!
While going to college, I found Tac Pro Shooting Center, in Mingus, Texas. It was there that I entered my first 3 gun match. That match was miserable! It was cold (it never got above 35° that day), rainy and I finished up dead last. I was instantly hooked on the sport!
Since that cold, rainy day, I have spent a lot of time asking questions, listening, and leaning from a lot of fellow shooters. I’ve gone from dead last in that first match to typically being close to the top of the list when it’s all said and done.
Since becoming a full-time employee at XS Sights, I’ve been able to continually increase my skills and abilities as a competitive shooter. It is through my hard work and lots of help from my friends and sponsors, as well as an understanding boss and co-workers, that I can continue improving and chasing my dream.

3-Gun, Instructor
I reside in Claremore, a small town north of Tulsa, Oklahoma, where I own a hair salon. Because I am a business owner, it allows me to be flexible with my schedule so I can focus on my passion, which is educating ladies on how to safely handle a firearm.
I discovered 3-gun competition when a good friend told me we should go watch. That is where I met Lena Miculek, Dianna Mueller and Taran Butler. Needless to say, the rest is history.
I am a member of the Walther Arms shooting team and my daily carry is Walther PPS M2 with XS F8 Night Sights.
Steven Foster
Skeet, Trap, GSSF, USPSA, Rimfire Challenge, and Steel Challenge
“I remember when I was six years old and my dad took me shooting for the very first time,” Steve says. “I remember being humbled and excited all at once about shooting. The feeling of knowing I would make shooting a lifelong passion and focus was cemented in my mind. One of the best Christmas presents ever was when Santa brought me my first 10/22 which I still have to this day. Who knew so much happiness could come in a small package!”
As a native New Yorker, Steve enjoys the nail-biting experience of following the Yankees in the month of October. Now, after traveling the country, he lives in Georgia where he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Teresa and two energetic daughters, Olivia and Vanessa. The rest of Steve’s time is devoted solely to his shooting disciplines: skeet, trap, GSSF, USPSA and his new-found home in Rimfire Challenge and Steel Challenge. There is nothing like the sound of steel ringing!
Steve is a 6 Division Grand Master in Steel Challenge bringing home 91 Major titles in his career. He is one of the few shooters to break the 60-second mark in Steel Challenge with a time of 58.42 seconds. He is also the co-host of the Steel Target Paint Podcast which is available on SoundCloud and iTunes.
