FN FIREARMS
Since it's founding in 1889, FN - Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre - has been well known as a manufacturer of small arms for military, sporting, competition and self-defense use. From the famed FN HiPower to the FN 509, FN offers handguns for a wide range of shooting needs.
Most FN handguns are factory equipped with sights that are not ideal for an EDC or home defense handgun. XS offers durable iron sights that will hold up to years of abuse and stay on the gun. Our sights come equipped with tritium to provide an illuminated sight picture in low light. Tritium glows for 12-years and does not require batteries or maintenance. We carry a variety of sight pictures tailored to specific shooting styles.
DXT2 Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. The big dot front sight and open rear sight allow a greater field of view down range, increasing the front sight acquisition speed. The simple in-line sight picture reduces sight alignment time by eliminating an extra focus point compared to traditional notch and post sights. The dot-the-i sight picture prevents confusing the front and rear sight while under stress or in low light. DXT2 Sights are available in a Standard Dot (0.140”) or Big Dot (0.188”) front sight.
XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright light, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low light. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences. XS offers sights available with a tritium or non-tritium rear option to fit your shooting style and offers FN 509 suppressor sights for your optic equipped models.
Whatever your shooting needs, XS Sights has your FN 509 night sights covered.
FN History
Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre (National Factory for Weapons of War), known as FN or FN-Herstal, was founded in Herstal, Belgium in 1889. Starting with a contract to manufacture Mauser Model 89 rifles for the Belgian Military, FN has continued to manufacture top of the line small arms for various military forces around the world.
The Grand Puissance, french for High Power, was the last handgun designed by John Browning, and was the first handgun to use a double-stack magazine. The FN HiPower, as it came to be known, was used by both the Axis and Allied powers during World War II, and sees continued use by military units and law enforcement agencies to this day.
The FN Five-SeveN was developed in the mid 1990's to fulfill a NATO request for a new cartridge, handgun and submachine gun for personal defense roles. The FN Five-Seven uses a 5.7x28mm FN cartridge which is optimized for penetration and is less likely to overpenetrate than common pistol calibers. The FN Five-Seven is in use by military and law enforcement units around the world.
The FN 509 is FN's newest 9mm striker-fired pistol, released in 2017. The FN 509 is an ergonomic and rugged pistol that is well suited for self-defense, competition and duty use. The FN 509 features a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail, low bore axis and interchangeable backstraps for a custom fit.
For over 120 years, FN has been at the forefront of firearms design. FN's commitment to quality and innovation has made FN-Herstal a trusted name in the firearms industry. FN's line of pistols is sure to have a model that meets your needs, whether you are looking for a duty pistol, self-defense handgun or a new competition pistol.
