Taurus Firearms

Taurus USA firearms are some of the most popular on the market today, and for good reason. Taurus revolvers are known for their reliability and affordability. And now, with XS Sights installed on your Taurus, you can have the best of both worlds.

Most Taurus revolvers are equipped with sights that are difficult to see and are not ideal for EDC or a home defense gun. XS offers durable iron sights that will hold up to years of abuse and stay on the gun. Our sights come equipped with tritium to provide an illuminated sight picture in low light. Tritium glows for 10-years and does not require batteries or maintenance.

Standard Dot Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. They feature a .140” wide Glow Dot in orange or green and are designed to zero at normal defensive distances.

XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright light, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low light. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences.

The XS Standard Dot Night Sights are an ideal upgrade for your Taurus model 605 or 856.

Taurus History

Brazilian firearms manufacturer Taurus International was founded in 1924 as a tool and die shop in São Leopoldo.  In 1941, they introduced their first revolver, the Model 38101SO.  Exportation of revolvers to the United States began in 1953 using a series of importers.

From 1962 to 1973 a majority share of Taurus was owned by the Bangor Punta Corporation, the parent company of Smith &Wesson.  During this period, Taurus and S&W shared information on research, design, and manufacturing.

In 1981, Taurus acquired the Beretta manufacturing facility in São Paulo.  The purchase brought in new machines, tooling, employees, and technical drawings for many of Beretta’s designs that had been used by the Brazilian armed forces.

In 1988, Taurus USA was created to better serve the U.S. market.  This allowed for more streamlined importation and distribution and better customer support for customers in the U.S.

Taurus has continued to refine and improve their revolver lineup.  Their most recent offerings, the model 605, 856 and 856 Executive Grade, are well made, accurate and reliable.
