KIMBER FIREARMS
From the Kimber Custom II to the Kimber Micro 9, Kimber manufacturing is known for building accurate and reliable 1911 style handguns that offer exceptional value. XS Sights tritium night sights provide the fastest acquisition possible, elevating the capabilities of your Kimber for self-defense use.
Kimber pistols are equipped with metal injection molded sights that are not ideal for EDC or home defense. XS offers durable iron sights that will hold up to years of abuse and stay on the gun. Our sights come equipped with tritium to provide an illuminated sight picture in low light. Tritium glows for 10-years and does not require batteries or maintenance. We carry a variety of sight pictures tailored to specific shooting styles.
DXT2 Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. The big dot front sight and open rear sight allow a greater field of view down range, increasing the front sight acquisition speed. The simple in-line sight picture reduces sight alignment time by eliminating an extra focus point compared to traditional notch and post sights. The dot-the-i sight picture prevents confusing the front and rear sight while under stress or in low light. DXT2 Sights are available with a Big Dot (0.188”) front sight.
XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright light, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low light. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences. DXT2 sights are available with a tritium or non-tritium rear option to fit your shooting style.
XS Sights DXT2 night sights will give your Kimber the fastest acquisition possible.
Kimber History
After immigrating to the United States from Australia, Jack Warne founded Kimber of Oregon in Clackamas, OR in 1979. Initially, Kimber was known for building highly accurate bolt action rifles in .22 Long Rifle. Rifles in centerfire cartridges followed soon after.
After some turbulent times, including a bankruptcy, Kimber of America was formed in the mid 1990’s when Greg Warne and Les Edelman acquired the original Kimber of Oregon tooling. Edelman, the owner of Nationwide Sports Distributors, was also heavily invested in Jerico Precision Manufacturing – a manufacturer of precision hand tools and components for the Department of Defense. With a solid manufacturing presence in Jerico Precision Manufacturing and a network of dealers from Nationwide Sports, the new company had a strong foundation for the sporting arms market.
In 1997, the company introduced their first 1911 style handgun – the Kimber Custom Classic. The new line of pistols made use of investment casting and metal injection molding to bring many custom features such as a beavertail grip safety, beveled magazine well and lowered and flared ejection port to a production handgun at a reasonable price.
The Micro 9 is Kimber’s newest sub-compact, aluminum framed concealed carry pistol. Featuring Kimber’s precision manufacturing, 1911 ergonomics, slim design and 6+1 capacity, the Kimber Micro 9 is built for a lifetime of duty as a self-defense handgun.
