XS offers installation services as a premium option on select product pages. Please review the process below to determine if installation services are suitable for you before purchasing.

XS Installation Services Guide:


  1. Add a set of sights and installation services to the cart.
  2. After checkout, you will receive an order confirmation email and an installation services instruction email.
  3. Next, you will receive a FedEx shipping label for your slide/firearm from emaillabel@fedex.com.
    • Note: If your order was placed before 1 pm Central Time, you should receive the FedEx label the same day; if it was placed after 1 pm Central Time, you will receive the FedEx label the following business day.
  4. You will receive an order shipping confirmation email, which means that your sights have been placed with our customer service team and are awaiting your slide/firearm for installation.
  5. Prep the slide/firearm for shipment:
    • For slides: DO NOT ship the entire firearm; ONLY the slide (remove the barrel and recoil spring).
    • For revolvers: you may ship the whole firearm.
  6. Securely wrap and pack the slide/firearm in a plain box. Do NOT use a padded mailer as the slide/firearm can easily be lost or stolen.
    • We recommend dropping the box off at a FedEx store, NOT a drop box.
  7. Ship the box using the emailed FedEx label.
  8. An XS Customer Service representative will email you when we have received your slide/firearm.
  9. Please allow five business days from the receipt of the slide/firearm for installation.
  10. An XS Customer Service representative will email you with tracking information when the slide/firearm has been shipped back to you.

Workmanship:

While we strive to avoid scratching your property, there is always a risk of this occurring. XS Sights will not be liable for scratches or any other damage to the slide/firearm during shipping or installation.

  • Black slide/firearm: XS is not responsible for any damage. The buyer assumes and accepts the risk of potential surface finish scratches. However, we will do our best to cover any mark if the slide is black.
  • Cerakote/Stainless/Custom slide/firearm: XS is not responsible for any damage. The buyer assumes and accepts the risk of potential surface finish scratches.

Shipping:

XS offers insured shipping options for slide and revolver installations. We also offer uninsured shipping options for slide installations. When you select the insured shipping option, you will get up to $500 of coverage for slides and $1,000 of coverage for revolvers. Please consider this when selecting your preferred shipping option.

  • An adult signature is required for delivery.
  • You will need proof-of-value information for the slide.

FAQs

What installation services does XS offer?

XS installs select Glock-style sights, dovetailed sights, and revolver sights. Please note, XS does not perform any machining work, such as dovetail cuts or drilled pinholes, for sight installation.

How much does it cost?

The installation fee is approximately $40, plus the cost of the sights and shipping & handling.

Is labor included in the price along with shipping and handling?

Yes, labor and shipping & handling are included in the total price when you select your installation option. You'll notice the product price adjusts accordingly. After selecting your services, choose the free shipping method at checkout to avoid unnecessary additional shipping charges.

How quickly will my slide be shipped?

XS offers FedEx Ground shipping with both insured and uninsured options.

How quickly will my firearm be shipped?

XS provides FedEx 2-Day shipping, insured for added peace of mind.

How long does the installation take?

XS will install your sights within 5 business days of receiving them.

Do I need to order sights before shipping my slide or firearm?

Yes, you must order your sights and select your installation services on the product page. After checkout, you’ll receive an order confirmation and an email detailing the next steps for installation.

Should I ship my slide or the entire firearm?

For semiautomatic firearms, ship only the slide. For revolvers, you may send the entire firearm.

Do I need to go through my local FFL dealer to ship my revolver for installation?

According to BATFE regulation (27 CFR, Part 178.147), you are not required to use a local FFL dealer to ship a firearm to or receive it back from XS for repair or sight installation services.

What packaging should I use to ship my slide or firearm?

Always use a sturdy, heavy box with plenty of padding. Avoid padded mailers or envelopes, as these can tear open during shipping. XS has received damaged mailers with slides sticking out or missing entirely. A well-padded box ensures safe delivery.

What should I include when shipping my slide or firearm?

Include a note with your name and the email address used to place the order. This ensures we can accurately process your installation.
