Taurus Firearms
Taurus firearms are some of the most popular on the market today, and for good reason. Taurus handguns are known for their reliability and affordability. And now, with XS Sights installed on your Taurus, you can have the best of both worlds.
Most Taurus pistols are equipped with plastic sights that are not ideal for EDC or a home defense gun. XS offers durable iron sights that will hold up to years of abuse and stay on the gun. Our sights come equipped with tritium to provide an illuminated sight picture in low light. Tritium glows for 10-years and does not require batteries or maintenance. We carry a variety of sight pictures tailored to specific shooting styles.
DXT2 Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. The big dot front sight and open rear sight allow a greater field of view down range, increasing the front sight acquisition speed. The simple in-line sight picture reduces sight alignment time by eliminating an extra focus point compared to traditional notch and post sights. The dot-the-I sight picture prevents confusing the front and rear sight while under stress or in low light. DXT2 Sights are available in a Standard Dot (0.140”) or Big Dot (0.188”) front sight.
R3D Nights offer an enhanced notch and post sight traditional sight picture, built for a lifetime of hard use. All XS sight systems are designed around highly visible front sights to enhance front sight focus. R3D sights feature a brighter tritium vial in the front sight to increase front sight focus. The rear features a simple blacked-out face with a wide notch to increase visible light around the front post.
XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright light, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low light. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences. DXT2 and R3D sights are available with a tritium or non-tritium rear option to fit your shooting style.
No matter what Taurus model you have, XS Sights has a sight solution that will fit your needs. Pick up your Taurus G2C Night Sights today!
Taurus History
Brazilian firearms manufacturer Taurus International was founded in 1924 as a tool and die shop in São Leopoldo. In 1941, they introduced their first revolver, the Model 38101SO. Exportation of revolvers to the United States began in 1953 using a series of importers.
From 1962 to 1973 a majority share of Taurus was owned by the Bangor Punta Corporation, the parent company of Smith & Wesson. During this period, Taurus and S&W shared information on research, design, and manufacturing.
In 1981, Taurus acquired the Beretta manufacturing facility in São Paulo. The purchase brought in new machines, tooling, employees, and technical drawings for many of Beretta’s designs that had been used by the Brazilian armed forces.
In 1988, Taurus USA was created to better serve the U.S. market. This allowed for more streamlined importation and distribution and better customer support for customers in the U.S.
The GX4 family is the latest addition to the Taurus lineup. The micro compact Taurus GX4 is a lightweight, polymer framed, striker-fired family of handguns designed for concealed carry. The Taurus GX4 has proven popular with users and took home the coveted Guns & Ammo Handgun of the Year award for 2022. The GX4 will readily use Glock sights, because of this XS has many Taurus GX4 night sights available. XS Sights DXT2 Big Dot or R3D tritium night sights will perfectly complement the GX4 as a top tier concealed carry pistol.
The GX4 family is also available as a T.O.R.O. – Taurus Optic Ready Option. T.O.R.O. models feature a slide machined to accept an optics plate and optic, eliminating the need for custom machining to attach a red dot to the slide, and the slide will accept XS Sights Suppressor Height Glock sights, available in either R3D, Minimalist or DXT2 Big Dot sight pictures.
Taurus continues to expand their offerings. Their latest polymer framed, semi-automatic handguns have quickly been recognized as reliable and affordable handguns that excel in the concealed carry role.
