M&P Shield 9mm Sight Upgrades from XS Sights
I. The DXT2 Night Sights
DXT2 Night Sights offer the fastest sight acquisition on the market. The Big Dot front sight and open rear sight allow a greater field of view down range, increasing the front sight acquisition speed. The simple in-line sight picture reduces sight alignment time by eliminating an extra focus point compared to traditional notch and post sights. The dot-the-i sight picture prevents confusing the front and rear sight while under stress or in low light. DXT2 Sights are available in a Standard Dot (0.140”) or Big Dot (0.188”) front sight.
II. R3D Night Sights
R3D Nights offer an enhanced notch and post sight traditional sight picture, built for a lifetime of hard use. All XS sight systems are designed around highly visible front sights to enhance front sight focus. R3D sights feature a brighter tritium vial in the front sight to increase front sight focus, while the rear sights feature a simple blacked-out face with a wide notch to increase visible light around the front post. The front and rear sight's features together make for high visibility and fast target acquisition, no matter the lighting.
XS Sights: The Fastest Sight in any Light!
XS front sights are equipped with our proprietary photoluminescent Ember Glow Dot technology. The Glow Dot features a high-contrast color in bright sunlight, absorbs ambient light, and glows in low lighting conditions. Ember is available in multiple colors to satisfy personal color preferences. DXT2 and R3D sights are available with a tritium or non-tritium rear option to fit your shooting style.

Smith & Wesson History
In 1852, Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson formed a partnership to develop the Volcanic rifle. In 1855, the company was renamed Volcanic Repeating Arms prior to being purchased by Oliver Winchester.
In 1856, Smith and Wesson rejoined forces start the Smith & Wesson Revolver Company. The Smith & Wesson Model 1 was released in 1857 and was the first successful cartridge revolver. Orders for the new revolver quickly outpaced manufacturing capacity, and Smith & Wesson had to expand into a new manufacturing facility in 1860.
Military contracts for the Model 3 "Schofield" in .45 Schofield and the 1899 Hand Ejector in .38 Long Colt (which was the origin of the famed Military & Police, M&P, name) helped solidify S&W's position as a leading manufacturer handguns.
1935 saw the introduction of the .357 Magnum cartridge in the Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum. Eventually being re-named as the Model 27, this handgun ushered in the Magnum family of cartridges.
With the introduction of the polymer framed striker fired M&P handguns in the early 2000's, Smith & Wesson once again set the standard for reliable and durable defensive handguns. The M&P line has since expanded to include models designed specifically for concealed carry, competition, and law enforcement.
Today, Smith & Wesson is a leading manufacturer of handguns, rifles, and shotguns for self-defense, competition, hunting, and recreation. With a commitment to quality and innovation, Smith & Wesson continues to set the standard for the firearms industry.
